Arsene Wenger faces two tough away games in the first month of the campaign

FIRST up it’s the Foxes after Arsenal were paired with Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on the opening day of the new season.

The Gunners will kick off their campaign on Saturday August 12, before facing tough away fixtures at Stoke City on August 19 and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Anfield seven days later.

The first north London derby of the season against Tottenham will be on November 18 at the Emirates, with the return fixture at Wembley Stadium on February 10.

Arsenal are facing a potential fixture nightmare ahead of their Europa League campaign with five away games set to follow immediately after group-stage ties.

Their Europa League campaign will start on September 14 and will be immediately followed by a trip to champions Chelsea, where they have lost their past five fixtures. Other tricky away days following European outings include Manchester City and Everton.

Spurs, meanwhile, will start their season as they mean to go on – playing away from home. They go to Newcastle on the opening day, before playing their first home game away from White Hart Lane a week later when they tackle London rivals Chelsea at Wembley.

On the transfer front, the Gunners continue to be linked with a summer move for French striker Alexandre Lacazette. The latest reports claim that Lyon want in the region of £60million for the 26-year-old, but would be willing to lower their asking price if the deal saw forward Olivier Giroud moving in the opposite direction.

One deal that certainly won’t be happening this summer, if you can believe what you read, is Alexis Sanchez going to one of Arsenal’s Premier League rivals.

Manager Arsene Wenger is absolutely determined to resist all offers from English clubs, with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City reportedly willing to spend over £50million on the 28-year-old. Sanchez’s current deal is set to end in 2018 and if the north Londoners are forced to sell they would only being willing to listen to offers from Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain.
