Emergency surgery for charity shop cat Shisha finds lump was just a giant furball

15 August, 2017 — By Aleesha Hansel

A CAT thought to have a life-threatening tumour is back home after an emergency operation found the lump was just a giant fur-ball.

Shisha, who can be found pottering around Mind charity shop in Camden Road, Camden Town, was taken to the vet when staff noticed she wasn’t her usual outgoing self. The shop was told it would cost £400 for an X-ray. An appeal through the New Journal raised £500 – with one man offering £100.

Manager Monika Pokorna said: “She [Shisha] is the star of the show. It would have been like losing a volunteer as she has been here so long. She is part of the furniture. “She wasn’t able to jump up on the cabinets. Normally, she lets people stroke her, but she wasn’t letting them, so we knew something wasn’t right.”
