FOOTBALLERS representing the Islington and Camden District team put in a masterclass of finishing on Saturday when they hit nine goals against Brent to book their place in the final of London’s Sidney Gill Cup.
The Under-13s side started the game in attack mode with Trevelle Reid scoring in the opening 60 seconds after latching on to Luc Achermann-Stanfield’s perfectly weighted through ball. Achermann-Stanfield has so often been the string-puller for the District team this season, and so it proved again on 25 minutes when he picked out Trey Barrington from a corner, allowing the centre-back to head home a second.
The midfielder completed a hat-trick of assists five minutes later when he found striker Charlie Preus for a simple finish from six yards. Achermann-Stanfield finished the game with no fewer than five assists to his name, laying on a second goal for Preus and a header for Caleb Adomako-Mensah.
The race to be the top goal-getter was won by hat-trick hero Preus, while Adomako-Mensah and Reid grabbed two goals each. Niino Adom was also on target in the thumping 9-1 victory.
