Christmas arrives in Primrose Hill

Christmas is here again! Collette Cooper with Jonny Bucknell as Father Christmas and Jo Wood

MODEL and TV personality Jo Wood added extra sparkle to the Primrose Hill Festival on Sunday as that special festive feeling swept over NW1.

Cheers filled the air as the countdown hit zero and the former wife of The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, joined by singer-songwriter Collette Cooper and up-and-coming Liverpudlian singer Joe Slater, switched on the Christmas Lights.

Former Conservative councillor Jonny Bucknell warmed up the crowd with some jokes that would be at home in a Christmas cracker, including “What do you call an old snowman? A puddle.”

Dora Copeland, Ewelina Denton, Suzy Messenger and Will Rees enjoy the festive fun

Before the big switch on the crowds were kept warm with a whole host of family entertainment, including stalls, amusement rides, live music and street food.

Among the biggest attractions was the return of a much-loved dog show, while the bumps and bruises were laughed off as visitors enjoyed a make-shift ice rink courtesy of nearby Savills estate agents, with all the money raised going to the local business association – who funded the Village Christmas lights.
