Let’s have more stops by the faster trains
05 July, 2018
• PAUL Braithwaite very reasonably calls for lifts at Kentish Town station, which would have prevented a wheelchair user from being isolated on one of the main line platforms by the current Thameslink and Great Northern timetabling debacle, (It’s simply unacceptable that Kentish Town Thameslink station has no access for people with disabilities, June 28).
But how about also calling for a return of the British Rail practice of adding extra stops to faster trains to cover the cancellation of slower ones?
That way the wheelchair user could have got wherever he was going without any need to look for an alternative route, and Mr Braithwaite could have kept his appointment too.
