POLICE have issued a missing person’s appeal in a bid to find Flowered Up drummer John Tuvey.
Officers in Camden Town and King’s Cross said the musician, now working as a taxi driver, had been missing since last Wednesday and asked anybody who has seen him in the last week to contact them. Flowered Up, formed of five friends who grew up on the Regent’s Park estate, had a major hit in 1992 with the track Weekender. They still retain a cult status and their music has been described as being part of the ‘baggy’ or ‘Madchester’ movement.

Mr Tuvey said during a fashion shoot earlier this year: “My style influences, both music and fashion-wise came to me first and foremost through my mum and dad who were born and lived in Camden, not more than a mile from where I still live today. My dad had been a Mod, my mum a Modette and both still carefully followed the fashions. My dad also played bass in his own band. When I was just a little kid I’d go through his record collection and there’d be things like The Who, Bob Dylan, Cream.”
