Scenes for new Fleabag episodes filmed at Kentish Town café
Hasty refit at the Village Café in York Rise

SMASH-hit BBC comedy drama Fleabag is being filmed this week in Kentish Town – but the café where the star of the angst-ridden show bemoans her lot over steaming cups of tea is undergoing a refit, forcing set dressers into hasty interior work.
The comedy show, starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, used the Village Cafe, in York Rise, in the opening series as her favourite hangout – but the owners have spent the summer converting it into a diner. Building work was not finished in time for the filming of series two.
Instead, production company Two Brothers has brought in a team to put the cafe back to how it was – for one week only – before builders return.
A neighbour said: “We have been waiting for our café to re open over the summer, and getting excited about it being spruced up and turned into a lovely Turkish foodplace. It’s been a laugh watching them put it back to how it was after six weeks of building work was done to change how it looked.”
