Blackfriars Crown Court
THREE young men have been convicted of violent disorder after a man was stabbed in the buttocks.
David Liwala, 22, Christopher Moran, 21, and a third defendant who cannot be named because of his age, were found guilty by a jury last Thursday after a trial at Blackfriars Crown Court.
Moran had pleaded guilty to possession of a bladed article at the beginning of the two-week trial.
The case followed an incident in St John Street, Finsbury, last October.
The court heard how Moran, an “affiliate” of the Cally gang, based off Caledonian Road, had entered the “territory” of rival gang Easy Cash, based in Finsbury, on October 16. Prosecution barrister John Traversi described how Mr Moran was “armed with a knife” and pursuing someone “with violent intent” in St John Street.
Moran was quickly confronted by rival gang members and stabbed in the buttocks multiple times. The court heard how he collapsed outside the restaurant Niche in Rosebery Avenue.
Michael Dyra, 22, from Hoxton, had already pleaded guilty to violent disorder and possessing a knife in relation to the incident.
Sentencing will take place in September.
