A POPULAR summer celebration returned to NW5 with a bang on Saturday after two years in the wilderness.
Queen’s Crescent Community Association Summer Street Party was back by popular demand, bringing with it live music, dancing, stalls, delicious food and cakes and games.
Association chief executive Foyezur Miah said: “As a result of lack of funding, the street party hasn’t taken place for two years, but to be able to bring it back now is really, really positive. It’s an event that everyone looks forward to. “I want to thank businesses who stepped in to sponsor the celebration – without them it would have been very difficult to bring the street party back.”
Mr Miah added: “It was a fantastic, fun day for families, children and the community. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. We’re delighted the street party is back.” Among highlights was a photo-shoot by British portrait and fashion photographer Rankin, and a circus skills workshop by Street Circus, based at the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm.
