Those living in the area say they hope it will lead to a "meaningful" consultation

A VIRTUAL meeting between disgruntled residents living near a proposed new office tower block in Holborn and its developers is set to go ahead.

LabTech will today (Thursday) be talking to representatives of 13 community groups and associations and local councillors about wanting to turn the empty Selkirk House, on Museum Street, into “flexible office space”.

The real estate company plans to demolish the site, formerly home to a Travelodge Hotel, and build in its place at least 21 floors of “flexible office space”.

The site is to include 29 new homes, 40 per cent of which would be “affordable”, according to LabTech.

Residents in the area, however, say there should be more cheaper homes included and have referred to the scheme as a “monster tower” that will “damage the skyline” in a historic part of London home.
