A TEENAGE boy arrested by armed police on the Chalcots estate on Friday has been released without charge.

Officers searched Bray block, Fellows Road, on Friday afternoon after receiving reports that a man was seen carrying a knife.

They arrested a 16-year-old boy at the scene, but he was later “released with no further action taken,” police said.

No injuries were reported.

Police said they were called to “reports of a male seen in possession of a knife in Bray Tower” at around 3:30pm.

Scotland Yard said in a statement: “Officers attended and a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession a pointed article in a public place.

“He was taken to a north London police station.

“Officers carried out enquiries, including reviewing CCTV, and the [boy] was subsequently released with no further action taken.”

They are continuing to investigate and called on members of the public to contact police with any information.
